The Method

The Flow Session

You’ve done the physiotherapy. The massage. The chiropractic care.

And you still don’t feel like yourself.

what is it exactly?

The Flow session combines manual osteopathic treatment with targeted Pilates at every appointment – not as two separate things, but as one integrated session designed to create lasting change.

You know your body doesn’t feel right. You just haven’t found someone who can explain why.

You have put in the work – seeing different practitioners and attempting stretching and strength programs on your own, but nothing seems to stick longer than a few days.

Maybe it’s postpartum. Maybe it’s years of sitting, maybe it’s adapting to years of stress held in your hips, neck or jaw. Maybe you’ve been told that everything looks fine on paper, but you don’t feel fine.

You’re not making it up – your body is asking for something more integrated than 30 minutes with a new practitioner every few months.

The problem with most treatment:

It stops too soon.

What you’ve probably experienced:

✓ Post-treatment you’ve been told to go home and rest.

✓ Temporary relief, then back to square one a few days later.

✓ No connection between the hands-on work and how your body actually moves.

What’s actually missing:

  • A practitioner that treats and adds in movement within the same session.

  • Movement that reinforces what was just restored.

  • Long-term change – not symptom management.

Healing doesn’t have to take forever.

But it does have to be intentional.

Meet Lorissa Gilmore

cpt, domt

Lorissa has spent 15+ years studying how bodies move, and why they get stuck. The Flow session is the smarter path – reinforcing the manual osteopathic treatment with specific movement and exercises post-treatment, before old patterns reassert themselves. This is how lasting change happens.

About the Flow Method

The Flow Session combines manual osteopathic treatment with targeted Pilates — not as two separate things, but as one integrated session designed to create lasting change.

Treated & Moving — Same Session

MOST TREATMENT STOPS TOO SOON. THE FLOW SESSION ADDS TARGETED MOVEMENT IMMEDIATELY AFTER HANDS-ON WORK — BEFORE OLD PATTERNS CAN REASSERT THEMSELVES.

Built on 15+ Years of Study

LORISSA HAS SPENT OVER 15 YEARS STUDYING HOW BODIES MOVE — AND WHY THEY GET STUCK. EVERY SESSION IS BUILT ON THAT FOUNDATION.

Customized to You, Every Time

NO GENERIC PROGRAMS. YOUR PILATES MOVEMENT IS CHOSEN BASED ON YOUR OSTEOPATHIC ASSESSMENT THAT DAY — SPECIFIC TO WHAT YOUR BODY NEEDS RIGHT NOW.

Change That Lasts

THREE TO FIVE SESSIONS IS TYPICALLY ENOUGH TO SEE REAL, MEASURABLE CHANGE. THIS IS HOW LASTING CHANGE HAPPENS — NOT SYMPTOM MANAGEMENT.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Osteopathy is a gentle approach to manual therapy, based on 4 principles:

    • The body works as a unit

    • Structure and function are inter-related

    • The body is self-regulating and self-healing

    • Treatment takes into account the previous 3 principles.

Osteopathic treatment seeks out the root cause, rather than symptoms. It involves bones, joints, connective and soft tissues; it also considers how all body systems work together to maintain and restore health.

  • Osteopathic manual therapy can help address:

Back and neck pain, headaches, stress-related issues, digestive issues, TMJ, sports injuries. Joint pain.

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing that will allow for movement. (Please avoid wearing dresses/skirts/jeans).

  • Your initial visit will include a comprehensive intake and health history. Treatment is customized to each individual and may include a combination of Osteoarticulations, Myofascial remodelling, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and/or lymphatic drainage. If you’ve chose the Flow session, specific Pilates programming will follow treatmen

  • By starting with a manual osteopathic assessment your Pilates movement portion of your session will be based on your assessment results – resulting in targeted exercises chosen to enhance and compliment the manual osteopathic treatment. Reassessment at the end of the session ensures that measurable change has occurred.

  • This depends on how long the problem has been present – chronic issues may require more appointments than newer injuries/concerns. Generally, most people feel and see change in 3-5 sessions, allowing enough time to determine if manual osteopathic therapy is effective for you.

  • Osteopathic manual therapy is covered by most extended health plans. We suggest checking with your insurance provider prior to booking.

  • This combination Osteopathy + Pilates session is split 50:50 between the two modalities. Note that only the Osteopathy portion is billable under Extended Health Care plans, Pilates is billed separately and is not eligible for extended health coverage. (Note: Pilates may be eligible to be covered under a Health Spending account). Two receipts will be provided.

  • 24-hour notice is required from the client for any change or cancellation to avoid full session fee being charged.
